To enhance the lifecycle value of these tools, DISA leveraged its surface treatment expertise to deliver custom internal shot blasting equipment for SOFE’s Positive Displacement Motor Repair Project in 2025. This highly efficient automated cleaning solution meets strict repair standards, empowering SOFE to achieve green remanufacturing and further solidifying its leadership in high-end oil and gas equipment services.
Equipment Overview & Automated Workflow
This comprehensive system consists of loading/unloading clamps, a shot blasting chamber, and steel pipe translation and rotation mechanisms. The process is fully automated: operators simply select the pipe type on the intelligent panel. Sensors automatically verify the dimensions, after which two pipes are loaded into the chamber, lifted, and rotated. Servo-driven nozzles perform the precise internal blasting based on preset parameters. Once complete, the pipes are automatically discharged to the next process.
Advanced Control & Filtration
The system features a closed-loop shot recovery and recycling unit, ensuring all abrasives are cleaned and reused. A powerful centralized filtration and ventilation system maintains a clean working environment. Engineers can easily configure all process parameters—such as rotation speed, translation speed, and blasting pressure—via an intuitive touchscreen. The panel also provides real-time alarms and troubleshooting prompts.
